I have a v reg renault laguna 1.9 dti - that will not start. Fuel is not getting to the injectors any ideas!?

i have changed the fuel filter, checked the solanoid, changed all glow-plugs (but car first stopped starting when warm.) Fuel seems to be getting to the pump but no further. Also after i have turned the engine over to try to start it there seems to be a buzzing noise coming from near the fuel pump under the bonnet, but the fuel pump is not electrical powered, it is mechanical. please could someone help me! thanks!

It's not really my field... diesel engines and the such... but one friend of mine had this problem and said it due to compression issues - the fuel isn't compressed enough to ignite...something like that...
