Could it be the fuel pump?

2001 Ford focus, i changed the fuel filter, injectors are fairly new, new wires, plugs, and coil pack. also checked the catalytic converter. But nothing. Here is what happens, at idle i step on the gas and it putts and sounds like it is gonna die. When driving car has very little power and when i get to higher RPM when driving it loses power completely til i let off the gas and shift into a higher gear.
Could it be the fuel pump?
YES IT COULD BE THE FUEL PUMP. E-mail me with your VIN and I will check to see if you are elgible to have it replaced FREE OF CHARGE at your nearest local Ford dealer service department. To replace the fuel pump, requires modifying the fuel tank by cutting away the locating lock tabs inside the tank, and replacing it with an updated unit. Hope this helps.
Could it be the fuel pump?
it sounds like either the pressure regulator is letting to much fuel pass or it is the fuel pump could also be timing but the cheapest easiest stuff is usually the problem
my guess in fuel pump.....but i definitely would not rule out oxygen sensors, mass air flow sensor, or throttle position sensor as your culprit
i own a shop ,and that sounds like a bad pump on it,i think that would have probably been what i would have checked first on it,it sounds like its fuel related ,good luck i hope this helps.
Check your oxygen sensor. You can get your local autoparts store to run a code check on your computer also. O2 sensors will show on the computer along with anything else.
Cars have several sensors that feed information to the computer that controls the fuel injection, timing, etc. If a sensor involving the fuel/air mixture is bad, it will cause a lot of the symptoms. Have the diagnostic codes checked. Last resort..it could be the computer.
