I check my fuel injector, change the oil filters and gas filter. and my car still sounds like it's idling high
How to repair P0507 Idle Control system high on Nissan Altima 2003?
Idle speed control speed needs to be reduced. P0507 happens when the suggested idle speed from the Engine control does not match up with reccomended idle rpm. For your information the throttle chamber is a 5/50,000 mile item and if your car has less than 70,000 on it Nissan Might goodwill the part replacement. $750 you will not spend. Be nice just ask. Now if you have never returned to the dealer for anything like oil changes tire rotates and service Nissan might think you do not like them.
The Story go's I was thinking about purchasing the new 2007 Altima due out anytime soon but if you all cannot repair my current car I might think I will go with a Toyota Camary!!
How to repair P0507 Idle Control system high on Nissan Altima 2003?
The best way is to take the car to a well experienced mechanic shop that knows how to fix that type of problem.

I need to clean the fuel injectors on a 2000 Nissan Frontier. Can someone tell a novice how to do this?
Is there a good product that I can add to the gas that will do the trick. I've already used the inexpensive $2 or $3 dollar STP type brands, but they have not solved the problem. I've been using these additives for about the last 6 months, and they have kept the problem from getting worse, perhaps made it a bit better, but have certainly not solved the problem. I know that Walmart is supposed to offer some service for only $15.00 or so that is done when they change your oil but I'm not to sure if what they offer is even effective, and I would rather take care of it myself. Any insight that you may provide will be greatly appreciated. Thankyou!

at the smog shop, i used to recommend the STP complete fuel system cleaner..the one in the grey bottle. it seemed to work best of the %26quot;tank additive%26quot; cleaners. at the toyota dealership, we use a 3 part cleaner. 1 goes into the tank, we remove the intake and hand clean the throttle body, and then we disconnect the fuel pump, and run a bottle of cleaner directly through the injectors. its about 129 bucks, but if you are dumping a 5 dollar bottle of cleaner a week.....its your call. what exactly makes you believe the injectors are that dirty?

pour a can seafoam in your gas tank
same thing is happening to me i went to walmart to do it but it came out the same i would just bring it to a mechanic to do a estimatewith children relationship dynamic editing

Just changed my fuel pump, it ran a few blocks . then wouldnt anymore..changed the filter, same, wont start?
clogged fuel line? clogged fuel injectors? i dont know..
Just changed my fuel pump, it ran a few blocks . then wouldnt anymore..changed the filter, same, wont start?
Possibly a plugged fuel filter
Just changed my fuel pump, it ran a few blocks . then wouldnt anymore..changed the filter, same, wont start?
you need to take it to a shop, and have them properly diagnose it they can see and hear what its doing we on here cant, we base our answers on what information the person gives us,you still have a problem with it some where, good luck with it.
The year and make of your car would help a lot here.
How was it running before you changed the pump. Is it the air filter you changed or the fuel filter... email cf_fills@yahoo.com
it sounds like a bad ignition module. the way to check this is to pull a plug wire, insert a spark plug and ground the plug shell. then have some one crank the engine over, and if you see a nice blue spark, the you still have fuel system issues. if no blue spark, then you have ignition issues.
fuel system issues can include a bad fuel pump relay, and bad fuel pressure regulator.
did you try bleeding the air out of the lines?

Great, now you have air in the fuel system....
I have no idea but you should go to the Chev Truck forums. Lots of people there who have lot of experience with Chev Trucks. I always use the vehicle forums when I have problems and they are great.

It sounds like the pump still. I used to work at a G.M. store and we have seen bad pumps out of the box. There is actually a valve in those modules.

Could it be the fuel pump?
2001 Ford focus, i changed the fuel filter, injectors are fairly new, new wires, plugs, and coil pack. also checked the catalytic converter. But nothing. Here is what happens, at idle i step on the gas and it putts and sounds like it is gonna die. When driving car has very little power and when i get to higher RPM when driving it loses power completely til i let off the gas and shift into a higher gear.
Could it be the fuel pump?
YES IT COULD BE THE FUEL PUMP. E-mail me with your VIN and I will check to see if you are elgible to have it replaced FREE OF CHARGE at your nearest local Ford dealer service department. To replace the fuel pump, requires modifying the fuel tank by cutting away the locating lock tabs inside the tank, and replacing it with an updated unit. Hope this helps.
Could it be the fuel pump?
it sounds like either the pressure regulator is letting to much fuel pass or it is the fuel pump could also be timing but the cheapest easiest stuff is usually the problem
my guess in fuel pump.....but i definitely would not rule out oxygen sensors, mass air flow sensor, or throttle position sensor as your culprit
i own a shop ,and that sounds like a bad pump on it,i think that would have probably been what i would have checked first on it,it sounds like its fuel related ,good luck i hope this helps.
Check your oxygen sensor. You can get your local autoparts store to run a code check on your computer also. O2 sensors will show on the computer along with anything else.
Cars have several sensors that feed information to the computer that controls the fuel injection, timing, etc. If a sensor involving the fuel/air mixture is bad, it will cause a lot of the symptoms. Have the diagnostic codes checked. Last resort..it could be the computer.

Fuel bleeding procidures for diesel powered Massey Furgerson 65?
We change both fuel filters and where is the bleeder screw on the injector pump.
Fuel bleeding procidures for diesel powered Massey Furgerson 65?
Loosen the injector lines at the injector pump. Then after fuel is comming out there tighten and loosen the lines at the engine. Then tighten when fuel it cooming out there. My 65 doen't have a bleed vaulve.
Fuel bleeding procidures for diesel powered Massey Furgerson 65?
Crack the fitting attached to each injector and turn the diesel over. This will bleed the lines.
fill the new filters with fuel and it should start without bleeding the lines
WHAT I HAVE DONE IN THE PAST IS JUST FILL THE FUEL FILTER COMPLETELY WITH FUEL AND THE MOTOR WILL START UP, THERE IS NO NEED TO BLEED ANYTHING ELSE.
Bleeder screws are for brakes...... Call Tractor Supply (TSC) or local tractor dealer or look it up on-line

I have a 96 acura integra ls 4 door, im thinkin i may have a fuel injector problem or somethin of that sort,?
The problem is somethin like this, i can be sittin idlin in the car, or startin to drive off and the car starts to bog down and hesitate like its not gettin enough gas or something. I changed the fuel filter, and thats not the problem. THis all started after I put cheapo gas in the car. What else could it be if not the injectors? pls help a lady out!

sounds like the oxygen sensor
I have a 96 acura integra ls 4 door, im thinkin i may have a fuel injector problem or somethin of that sort,?
Ok do this. Have the fuel pump pressure checked. If it is low there is the reason. when you change the demand for fuel, you change the air . This puts a demand for fuel and she falls on its face. Since you changed the fuel filter it also has a sock on the fuel pump that can be stopping up. Check the pressurewww.myspaces.com How can I keep the blankets on my baby?

Should i get an oil change the same day that i put in fuel injector cleaner?
You should put some fuel injector cleaner few times a year. At least once before your emission test.
Good Luck...
Should i get an oil change the same day that i put in fuel injector cleaner?
i believe that fuel injector cleaners are poured into the gasoline tank. you may or may not change your engine's oil. however, have your gas tank in full level when adding the cleaner
Should i get an oil change the same day that i put in fuel injector cleaner?
because the two are different ares of the car, lubrication and fuel injection, it does not matter.

Symptoms of a BAD fuel injector..?
EG8 1.5 Single Cam Fuel Injected Automatic Civic.....Engine trembles during driving %26amp; loss of acceleration power....if i mash the gas peddle straight down the engine dip %26amp; pulls off but with the force it trembles alot...like it's straining to move...whats going on with my car....? Is it the INJECTORS..? i changed Head %26amp; Block recently as well as Tranny..my only guess is the injectors....as for the check light it comes on ONLY for a few seconds when i start %26amp; disappears after....
Symptoms of a BAD fuel injector..?
Sounds like u need a major tune-up %26amp; get your engine hooked up to the computer %26amp; see whats going on. Get it checked out asap. Never let ur car go unmatenienced not good
Symptoms of a BAD fuel injector..?
did you put after market injectors on? there is no need for higher flowing injectors unless your turboing your car, even then you need a standalone or piggyback ecu to turn them down so you can can idle normally....
((((if they are factory your problem is not the injectors)))
..it sounds like you have a vacuum leak ...check that....how you can do that is turn on your car ..get some brake cleaner(like the spray) spray every line going to your intake manifold and the hose that connects your air filter box to the manifold...when the car feels like its going to die when spraying in a area it is where you have the leak....
the engine light coming on prior to turning on your car is normal......if the car is 96 and newer take it to your autozone and they will scan for codes for free.
also do a compression test and leak down test...
go from there...
i own a repair shop, and first off id take it to auto zone and have it scanned to see if there was any trouble codes in it,and what the were, then you might have a better idea of what its doing right now,it could either be a bad gas filter causing this or an injector,or even a bad fuel pump ,or a relay for it ,on today's cars there's so much that it can be ,its hard to guess at them, you need to have it scanned to be sure whats wrong with it,good luck,i hope this helps.
No No No. Not nesssessarily a bad Inj. A failed injector will cause a rythmic miss, nearly the same symptom as if you pull a plug wire from an individual cylinder.
LOOK at the fuel system as a whole. what does cause improper fuel distribution is the fuel pressure regulator that governs the line pressure in the fuel rail. It is a common failure part.I would say that is your problem based on the symptoms you describe plus an over 95% failure condition of fuel distribution problems in Hondas (alldata-2005 vehicle inherencies). Hey, the good news is that I am confident in you that you can change it out yourself AND the part is pretty cheap and available at your local-clerk knows litle to nothing auto parts store! EG8 is a pretty good motor by the way if you keep clean oil in it.
Best to you and your Honda too :)

Why is "traction engaged" displayed on my 1993 Cadillac Fleetwood?
It's a 1993 Fleetwood brougham. I recently changed my fuel injector and soon after doing so, the %26quot;traction engaged%26quot; light came off. The pressure now builds against my gas pedal to where it pushes back whenever I press it.
It's gotten to a point where I can't accelerate past 30mph without the gas pedal completely pushing my foot back. Please tell me how I can fix this and/or what it means. Thanks!
Why is %26quot;traction engaged%26quot; displayed on my 1993 Cadillac Fleetwood?
Sounds like the traction control system is engaging and slowing your vehicle down for you. Usually it's only supposed to do this when you're in low traction conditions, gravel, mud, snow, etc (it's an earlier/less sophisticated version of Stabilitrak in newer GM vehicles).
It looks like yours is malfunctioning and engaging all the time. Not sure why it would do it after you changed a fuel injector. You might want to take it to the dealer or a local shop to have it looked at. Could be bad speed sensors or bad computer.
Good Luck!

Is This a bad fuel pressure regulator?
I have a 91 cavalier z24 with the 3.1 v6. I was having problems with it starting. It would start up then shut off, and then start right back up and run fine. I took it to the shop, and they changed the fuel filter, and cleaned the fuel injectors. It starts on the first start now and runs good, but every once in awhile I smell fuel, and when I am at highway speeds and let off the gas my car like hesitates like it is not getting enough fuel. It like jerks back and forth for a second. This only does it when slowing down. Does this sound like a bad fuel pressure regulator? How tough is it to change a fuel pressure regulator? Thanks
Is This a bad fuel pressure regulator?
Try a couple of taks of gas at a different filling station. Had a similar prob with my VW 1.6 and two tanks of decent fuel solved it.
Is This a bad fuel pressure regulator?
I had very similar problems with my 93 cavalier RS 3.1 L, V6. I found the fuel pressure regulator was leaking gas through the vaccum lines into the air intake, and into the map sensor flooding it with gas. I'm in the process of replace it now. What a pain in the rear.

Why am I hearing metal bang around in my intake?
I recently changed my fuel injector on my 96 cavalier....right after I changed it, I noticed metal banging around in what I think could be the intake. My car would crank and run briefly, after it ran a little bit the metal would start, then it would shut off. Now it doesnt wanna crank at all, very strange
Why am I hearing metal bang around in my intake?
Your valve train meaning cam-lobes and or worn valves may cause this %26quot;knock%26quot; in the engine. Lack of oil and or cheap fuel can be the blame. Also, if you have the 2.4 they are known for this problem. Most came standard with the 2.2. Also timing is effected causing engine loping, stalling and or surging.
Why am I hearing metal bang around in my intake?
Sounds like it's pinging. You are running very lean so maybe you messed up the injector swap. Why did you have to change it in the first place? Unless you dropped a screw in there or something, I don't see how you'd hear anything %26quot;banging%26quot; around in there anyway. Banging is a big noise in my book. Did you mean clinking? Sounds more like the timing chain/belt has jumped.
That is never a good sign!
That it won't crank is very discouraging. Broken engine discouraging.
Remove the intake manifold and look for damage from a screw or part of an injector that is where it does not belong. if you see damage it is probably time to call a mechanic. If not try charging your battery and cranking the engine again. You could get lucky.web ftp hosting ireland

99 ranger bad on gas did tune up still the same really bad .need ideas on how to fix?
change injectors fuel filter on 2.5 lt
99 ranger bad on gas did tune up still the same really bad .need ideas on how to fix?
try checking the air pressure in your tires, and clean the air filter.
99 ranger bad on gas did tune up still the same really bad .need ideas on how to fix?
a 4cyl is too small of an engine for a ranger you need a v6 for that heavy of a vehicle. but have the exhuast checked may be plugged up. could have brakes hanging, also have a diagnostic run on the computer advance auto does it for free and gives you a print out.
plugged fuel filter or clogged catalytic convertor.
check the air pressure in the tires for a start. It may that you have a higher ratio rear end like a 3.73 to 1. Then it will be tough to improve a lot. the only other thing is to slow down and improve your driving habits. Think economy, before speed. Good luck.
normally those trucks do pretty good on fuel,id have the computer scanned and see if anything else came up that might explain why its not getting good mileage,if the plugs are gaped right in it and all else is ok ,then it should do fairly good on fuel, have the scan done on it auto zone will do this for free, and then you might know more about it,right now it could be anything wrong with it,good luck hope this helps.
Hate to tell you this, but those Ford Rangers ALWAYS got lousy gas mileage. :( It might be worth your while (not to mention the FORTUNE you'll save on gas)- if you trade that old gas guzzler in.

Daewoo Matiz Engine light?
had bit of trouble with my car, wasn't running well and engine light come on, now i have changed fuel injectors and engine running great again, but engine warning light is still on, now i'm wondering if i just need to take it to have it reset, or if i still have an engine problem, warninglight was blinking b4 i changed injectors, but now it is constantly on. any ideas?
Daewoo Matiz Engine light?
You could try disconnecting the battery and leaving it off for a good few hours to reset it - works with most
Daewoo Matiz Engine light?
You need to have the computer error codes read out. Write down the error code numbers. The technician will reset the check engine light and if it subsequently comes back on, you probably have the same error code faults that you wrote down.
disconect the battery. for about an hour. then connect it back.

2001 Toyota echo engine is hesitating, had tune up and carb cleaned. Does fuel injector need to be changed?
This is a 2001 Echo, standard transmission. I had the O2 sensor changed last Sept, but light came back on 2 weeks later. The tune up changed the plugs, air filter, etc in November. New battery in December. 1st to 3rd gear are really a problem to shift into. The engine hesitates, has no prower, and gassing the engine almost seems to stall it out. This is really bad when the engine is cold. Thanks for the help
2001 Toyota echo engine is hesitating, had tune up and carb cleaned. Does fuel injector need to be changed?
Frist off, if you had the carb cleaned, there is no fuel injector. Did a mechanic do the tune-up? During a tune-up you often find other things that are causing problems. Sounds like it is starving for air, check the exhaust, I would assume there are a lot of miles on it and the system could be clogged. On the expensive end, you could need a valve job. Does it use oil or smoke?

Goto your local auto parts store and have them scan your cars computer. You have at least 2 or more oxygen sensors on your exhaust system. It sounds like at least one of them is bad. Anyway they will get the codes and tell you what needs to be fixed. I had the same problem with my explorer, hesitated badly, it was 2 bad oxygen sensors.
Dear Smile maker: Sweetie ,I need to know if that car has any engine code(auto zone for free)
seems to me Your tranny , is given up.(1-3 synchronizer) or Your clutch need adjusting(which I dout)
have the PCV valve replaced and or the EGR Valve
that should fix it

Dear Smile maker: Sweetie ,I need to know if that car has any engine code(auto zone for free)
seems to me Your tranny , is given up.(1-3 synchronizer) or Your clutch need adjusting(which I dout)
have the PCV valve replaced and or the EGR Valve
that should fix it
good luck

No fuel pump pumping and no injectors firing. Ive tried everything.1996 Jetta GL 2.0L OBD2?
No fuel pump pumping and no injectors firing. Ive tried everything.
1996 Jetta GL 2.0L OBD2
Ok so I just recently pulled my engine and tranny. Touched up most every piece of the engine (made her %26quot;pretty%26quot;) cleaned and painted. Replaced the head gasket, clutch, sensors, new gaskets, belts, retaped the wiring, and so on.
Put it all back in nicey nice and she turns over but no injectors or fuel pump!!!
If I %26quot;jump%26quot; the fuel pump relay then I can get the pump to turn on but thats the only way.
It wont come on by turning the key.
Also my injectors arent firing at all; took em out after having the pump relay jumped and theyre dry as a bone. All were plugged in as should be.
If I spray starting fluid into the intake then she tries to start til the spray wears off. So I do have spark.
Testing the injectors for voltage I only read 6.5 volts! When I crank it with the meter on it voltage doesnt change. IDK if its because my meter is too slow to respond to the change or what.

did you get all your ground straps back in place??

It sounds like the engine computer is not seeing the engine speed signal. The engine computer activates the fuel pump relay hense turning on the fuel pump. Check to make sure the engine speed sensor is plugged in. I don't know wear it is on a jetta, possibly the front of the engine crank pully area or at the backt in the trans bell housing reading off the flywheel.

What is a manifold and a fuel injector and what do they do?
I have 1991 Nissan maxima and the mechanic said these need to be changed. How much does it cost and how long can I run on the car before it completely breaks down (at this point it is just shaking and making a 'tractor'-like sound).
What is a manifold and a fuel injector and what do they do?
There are actually two manifolds on your engine, an intake and an exhaust manifold. Given the additional details you offered, I will assume you are speaking about the intake manifold.
Your intake manifold is a collection of pipes that carry the fuel and air mixture into each of the six cylinders on your Maxima. (Whereas the exhaust manifold is also a series of pipe that carry exhaust from each cylinder into the exhaust system.)
The fuel injection system is an electronically controlled apparatus for mixing fuel and air in the proper proportions for combustion and then spraying it into a fine mist to improve the quality of the burn in each cylinder when a spark is supplied by your spark plug.
This fuel/air mix then is distributed to each cylinder by the intake manifold.
That said, it is fairly uncommon for an intake manifold on a Maxima to fail. As most of them are metal and often even cast metal, the only failures come from being cracked or warped from a severe overheating. I would be rather suspicious of that being the case on your car.
Fuel injectors on the other hand often do get clogged up but can be cleaned with a fuel injection cleaner such as one of the BG products. When dirty they do not spray the fine mist necessary for good combustion and the car will run rough. Sometimes injectors also fail, but I would try a thorough cleaning before I drew that conclusion.
What is a manifold and a fuel injector and what do they do?
The intake manifold is what allows the air to flow into the cylinders, and the fuel injectors are what sprays fuel into the intake just above the intake valves. There is an exhaust manifold too, it routes the spent exhaust to the exhaust pipe from the cylinders.desktop issue flirt with someone

My 1990 honda civic DX hatch has a fuel problem, i think?
you see, i had a puttering problem and recently the car just stopped working all together, i check many things, changed the fuel pump, the spark plugs, the wires, the fuel filter, and nothing, so i then pulled the fuel injectors, and tested them, they are working just fine, but it seems that gas may not be getting into the motor, i came to this conclusion by means of spraying some carb cleaner down the throttle body, and the car starts for a second...any ideas, id love some help on this one
My 1990 honda civic DX hatch has a fuel problem, i think?
maybe the main fuel relay has failed, can you hear the pump run? if not try replacing the relay and it should start. unless it is a timing or ignition problem...?
My 1990 honda civic DX hatch has a fuel problem, i think?
I would check for spark and fuel.. If there's no spark, then it's your dist. If it have no fuel then it's your main fuel relay.. Since you already change the fuel pump.. Disconnect the fuel line where it connectto the throttle body and crank the motor. see if there's any fuel come out.. Good Luck..

98 Camaro 3800 Fuel Delivery Problem...?
Ok, I have just asked a couple of questions regarding Fuel Pressure regulator and a Fuel Pressure Gauge, but now I'm just gonna lay out the whole problem right now.....
I'm having trouble with my fuel delivery system, it will run and drive for a while then it will die.
Here's an example of what's happening, the first time it happened, I was driving and I stopped at a red light then when I accelerated it died, So I had it towed home then tried changing the fuel filter and then it ran fine for about 50 miles (1 week later) no problems it happens again at a red light it just died and won't kick over so I have it towed home again. hour or so later after sitting it starts up again now I'm afraid to drive it because I know it will happen again...what could be the problem??
Injectors?
Fuel Pressure regulator?
Fuel Pump seems Fine because I can hear it come on when I turn the key.
I also hooked up a Fuel Pressure Regulator to the port on the fuel line and got this reading: 42 PSI with engine off and the needle goes down is that leak some where???
and about 45 PSI at idle.
98 Camaro 3800 Fuel Delivery Problem...?
First thing I would do, hook up an OBD2 scanner and check for codes. The second thing I would check is, fuel pressure regulator and fuel injectors.
98 Camaro 3800 Fuel Delivery Problem...?
It could be a transmission problem. That's if it is a Standard.

Fuel filter replcaement?
Hello all,
I am having a 1990,BMW 525i.Sometimes My Bimmer needs two or three cranks for starting.I have cleaned the fuel injectors with STP complete fuel cleaner and my sparkplugs are good.Do i need to change the fuel filter also?pls advice
Fuel filter replcaement?
A leaking fuel injector can cause this problem or a bad check valve in the fuel pump or faulty fuel pressure regulator. As fuel leaks pass the nozzle of a fuel injector it releases the static or holding pressure of the fuel system. Since the fuel pump relay is not energized until the computer %26quot;sees%26quot; ignition spark the engine has to be cranked first and then the fuel pump can then fill the system with fuel and pressurize the fuel. A leaking injector will also foul the spark plug or at least cause it to run rich. You will probably experiance rough idling after a long crank period if this is the case. A faulty pressure regulator or check valve in the fuel pump or external fuel leak will only cause long cranking times. A fuel pressure gauge installed between the fuel filtert and the injector rail will indicate wether or not the system is operating at nominal pressures. Shut the car off and observe the gauge it should hold pressure. If the pressure bleeds down you have a leak.
Fuel filter replcaement?
i would its cheap and you can do it your self. just remember safety, relive fuel system pressure and disconnect the negative battery cable.
let me know if you run into any problems
it may not do anything but it wont hurt anything either, its pretty cheap to do if you use pep boys. autozone. etc. for an after market filter
Oil filter should be changed with every oil change. The trouble sounds more like the alternator is acting up. Have the alternator checked.

My 1997 olds bravada won't start. The fuel pump does make sound when I turn the key.?
The fuel filter was changed, still nothing. It ran for a minute when gas was dumped into the fuel injector, but died shortly after. Any suggestions??? Thanks.........
My 1997 olds bravada won't start. The fuel pump does make sound when I turn the key.?
Check the fuel pressure. You need about 60 # while the pump is runnung and engine is not.
My 1997 olds bravada won't start. The fuel pump does make sound when I turn the key.?
Just because the pump makes noise doesn't mean it pumping at good pressure.
it'll run like poo if your not getting good fuel pressure sure but it will still start. it takes 3 things ti get an engine to start: fuel-air-fire, check to see if your getting any fuel to the rail by sticking a knife tip on the schrader valve (yours i believe has a green or black cap on a BLACK line) if no fuel is present check the flow on the fuel filter, you may have installed it backwords. good luck and god bless

What is the best fuel injector cleaner for a 3.1L V6 with 162,700 miles.?
I put in gunk high mileage fuel injector cleaner every time I change my oil. Is their any thing else out their that will work any better. Some one told me to use a product called Devcon ever heard of it?
What is the best fuel injector cleaner for a 3.1L V6 with 162,700 miles.?
I have 42 years in the field and I recommend Chevron Teck Ron or BG 44K
What is the best fuel injector cleaner for a 3.1L V6 with 162,700 miles.?
From stush30
I purchase the Chevron Tech Ron, 4 bottles in the package from Costco for $10.00
Beryman's B-12 or Seafoam
sorry Rob if my engine had that many miles on it, it would need more than injector cleaners. How about a new vehicle?
if its a early 90s 3.1L V6, then the best kind would be diesel fuel (to blow it up because its crap). if its the newer style, i have no idea.
Well Rob, some believe that all fuel injector cleaner is the same. I work in an Auto Parts store in Baton Rouge and I have heard that one brand was better and another brand is better..... Sooo I guess I would base my decision on which brand I have sold the most of and the top two sellers are Lucas Fuel Injection Cleaner and Berrymen's B-12. The only thing I can think of that sounds close to the brand you refered to in your question is Chevron Delo. It also helps to add the injector cleaner to a low tank, therefore it is more concentrated. Don't run the car long with low fuel. Run about 5 hard, fast miles with low fuel and injector cleaner, then go fill up.
The best yet, BG 44 K If you can't find or get it try Chevron Techron.
Never heard of it. I would personally recommend using STP fuel treatment. Use that with Shell 93 Octane Premium fuel (V Power). That should clean out your fuel injectors really well
for starters, stay away from anything STP.
the best stuff is what works best for you.
Chevron Techron, it's expensive, but very high quality.
Seafoam
Prestone Synthetic injector cleaner/booster
Redline Fuel System Cleaner (my personal favorite)
Lucas fuel system cleaner (my 2nd choice).
and Synpower complete fuel system cleaner.
seefoam is what i would use
Amsoil Performance Improver
http://www.amsoil.com/redirect.cgi?zo=14鈥?/a>
Hands down it's the Chevron Techron. I use nothing less then that. I use it every month, but use the cheap TEC walmart stuff (made by STP) every fill up.
Its a waste of money. Ethanol gas cleans injectors just as well .ittwit pc or mac

Second Opinion, '93 Nissan Altima Fuel Injector?
Hello Friends,
I was having troubles with my engine flooding after I turned my car off, After checking the fuel pump and changing the fuel filter I decided to change the pressure regulator. While doing so I came across this little broken guy, http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g179/M鈥?/a> .
My question is, could the (broken) injector have caused my engine to flood while turned off?
Thanks
Second Opinion, '93 Nissan Altima Fuel Injector?
It is a little difficult to tell if just the tip guard is broken away, or what? the best way to check for a leaking injector would be to monitor fuel pressure for a loss after shutdown. if you lose more that 5-8psi after shutdown, pull the injectors and look for wetting from the tips, The fuel pressure should stay around operating pressure for up to 30min after shut down. It may even climb slightly.
Second Opinion, '93 Nissan Altima Fuel Injector?
Absolutelly,if the injector was commanded to keep sending fuel it would flood out.
Yes, you found the problem. After the car is turned off the fuel rail still has pressure built up in it and what you have found is a massively leaking injector (which can flood and possibly hydro-lock the engine).

How do you change the o rings in the fuel injector on a 97 Pontiac sunfire 2.2 liter?
This is simple on your engine ... go to your local auto parts store and purchase a Chilton's or Haynes manual for your vehicle it will explain how to remove the fuel injectors, relieve the fuel pressure etc. Once you get the injectors out the O rings slide on and off no big deal just time consuming ... two ring sizes and colors is most common!
In this picture you can see an injector and the rings ... http://www.billhughes.com/fuelRail.jpg

Should I use a fuel injector cleaner if my car is giving a poor fuel economy?
Im planning 2 use Chevron Techron in my 2000 Mazda Protege which has got 136000 kms on it. Its givin me 11km/L (highway/city) although I changed its air filter recently. I barely go hard on the gas pedal.
Do u recommend Chevron Techron?
Thnx.
Should I use a fuel injector cleaner if my car is giving a poor fuel economy?
Any fuel cleaner will help improve the mpg, along with a proper tune up, oil %26amp; filter changes, new spark plugs, and the correct tire pressures.....all combined will help your vehicle
Should I use a fuel injector cleaner if my car is giving a poor fuel economy?
it well only help if they are dirty but there is something very wrong with this car if you only get 11km per litre you must be living somewhere else...so thats about 40 miles per gallon thats good

How often should I add fuel injector cleaner to my car and is it really that necessary?
I have a 2004 Huyndai Elantra with 20,000 miles on it. Some people tell me to add it once a month, others tell me every time I get my oil changed (as a reminder) and some say every 20,000 miles or so. Someone also told me that it's over rated. Who is right?
How often should I add fuel injector cleaner to my car and is it really that necessary?
I have spoken to sales reps from some of the bigger auto chemical companies, and the direct answer from them is that any fuel injector cleaner that you add to your tank is a good way for them to take 5 bucks from you. As others have pointed out already, fuel that you buy already has detergents in it, so it will not clog up your fuel system. What causes deposits is OLD fuel. If your car is not sitting for long periods (say 6 months or so) with fuel in the tank, lines, rail, and injectors, you shouldn't have any problems. If you want to be good to your car, change your fuel FILTER regularly, i.e. every 12-15,000 miles.

Waste of $$
I have a Chevy Malibu and I have been told numerous times to add it when I change my oil.
I use Gum-Out. It's in a yellow bottle.
If you buy good gas, you should never need it. Texaco, Mobile, Chevron or Quick Trip should all have cleaners in the gas. Also, never add anything to the gas or oil ... it can do very little good and can cause big trouble. You could use a gas dryer only to get water out of the gas, but nothing else. Change oil every 5000 miles on the speed odometer.
I add Berrymans 0116 to my tank every 8000 miles.
My car hasn't had a fuel issue in all of its 135000 miles.
I have a GMC pickup (EFI) with 245,000 miles that has NEVER seen a bottle of cleaner. ARCO gas almost exclusively.
If you ask me, I say use it once every 50,000 miles.
It is not designed to replace tune ups.
It all depends on the gas that you use. Cheaper gas is not going to have the cleaners in it, the more expensive gas does. It is not recommended for constant use, if you do use it. Think of it this way, if you are going to use it, do it the same time you get your oil changed.
you don't need it just use good gas
I have a 1993 dodge Dakota/169,000+, even though I have added Injector cleaners in the pass, according to the owners manual, it is recondmend that nothing is to be added to the gas, I know that when I did, my MPG dropped. I plan on just doing good maintenance on the engine and Pray the I get over 200,000 miles on it.

Jeep 4.0l stroker deck height?
I'm building my first 4.0-4.7 stroker engine for my 92 wrangler. I was wondering about the low piston height in the bore with stock pistons. does it cause any probs. Emisions don't matter where i live. The only way i see to resolve this is custom pistons and cutting the block way down. seems like a waste of money if i already have the ~9.5-1 compression with the stock pistons and stock deck of the block. Other than changing fuel injectors do i need to worry about any other fuel management probs? I'm a gm tech but i don't know alot about the old chrysler fuel injection, will it just adapt from the o2 sensor like the old gm tbi systems, as they seem to be pretty forgiving to internal modification. P.S. I'm at about 4500ft, hot and dry as hell UT. We also see neg temps in the winter. Any advise from some one who has one of these would be nice.
Jeep 4.0l stroker deck height?
While I can't give you a great answer on this, see if the www.jpmagazine.com archieve has any information on the company converting 4.0l to 4.6l strokers. The magazine wrote an article about the company about a year and a half ago.
I don't remember how much details they gave in the article, and I'm pretty sure that the company won't give away too much information, but there might be enough to be useful to you.

Call Summit racing or 4wd hardware, and they have the stats on this motor.
I could write a big long response here but the simple fact is that this web site should be able to answer your question MUCH better than I ever could. If it doesn't I'll bet you can contact guy and pick his brain - he seems pretty knowledgeable.

Ok,, below will answer all your questions and MUCH more. I have built the 4.7 liter. You might want to recalculate your compression ratio. Original is 8.8 to one and you just added a 1/2%26quot; stroker crank..I get a little over 10 to one and that is high. I have special pistons to bring it down to 9 to one. You should be only around 0.10 low with stock pistons on deck height. Yes you need to change the injectors are you now have a 20% larger engines, but the information I furnished below will tell you cheap way to get from Junk Ford 5 liter or part numbers.
The computer will have no problems, but I did build the adjustable MAP sensor to fine tune the system.
Personal gains were 51% more Rear Wheel HP and 61% torque. WARNING, your Dana 35 WILL NOT STAND this thing. You have around six months before the spiders to and take out the rear end.
Take it from me,,do the Ford 8.8 conversion...also on the net..Just finished mine and got disc as a side benefit.
Good Luck
PS BIG WARNING. IF you go with Crane cams..there are eight documented lob failures. Highest mileage is 33,000 and mine went at 32,000 miles. Other manufacturers have also failed.Suggest Crower cams and the special grooved lifters for more cam lubrication!!!!!! Most people are blaming the new low zinc oils that are now standard. OK for roller cams, but not tappet. I am now using Rotella Diesel oils, which still have the zinc.talk in front of class ie hosted control

Where is the fuel pump and the fuse or relay on a 95 eclipse gs?
The computer was just changed and the fuel pump isn't sending any gas to the injectors. I can't find the fuse, relay or the damn pump on this car.
Where is the fuel pump and the fuse or relay on a 95 eclipse gs?
The fuel pump is an %26quot;in tank%26quot; part. If it's faulty, it's unservicable, you need to replace it.
You don't need to remove the tank to get the pump out, but make sure there isn't too much fuel in the car when you do this.
relay %26amp; fuse are in the black box under the hood, on the left hand side (looking from the front) of the car.
My '95 was doing the same thing. Are you sure this is the problem? I foolishly replaced those parts, only to find that the probelm wasnt corrected.
A quick $15 visit to an Auto Elec for on the spot electrical self diagnosis pointed me in the right direction.

1995 Olds Aurora fuel system problem?
Had a problem starting. my mechanic diagnosed 2 bad fuel injectors which I replaced. Had the fuel system cleaned, and fuel %26amp; air filter changed. Runs good, with no skipping, but won't idle for more than two minutes without stalling. Will run fine on highway, but when I come to a stop, it will lose power and stall. Any ideas?
1995 Olds Aurora fuel system problem?
james could be right.it could be the idle air control, and also it could be the throttle position sensor acting up.i have a olds and mine did that until i changed them.i tell you, these cars today, you almost have to be a professor to figure them out sometimes.

Sounds like idle control valve or throttle position sensor.

2002 mustang V6: Only getting 160 miles per full tank. What can I do to improve gas milage?
Have already changed spark pug wires %26amp; plugs. Changed out ignition coil pack. Had fuel injectors cleaned %26amp; Fuel filter changed? Replaced muffler as well.

use valvoline oil. its expensive but can save you on gas mileage guaranteed.

yOU NEED TO SEE HOW BIG THE GAS TANK IS. YOU MAY HAVE A SMALL GAS TANK. MY 1995 T-BIRD ONLY HAS A12 OR 13 GALLON GAS TANK, BUT I GET OVER 20 MILES A GALLON WITH IT, UPWARDS OF 240 MILES PER TANK.
you can put a k and n air filter on it that will help but sounds to me like you have a problemb maybe in your timeing

I have a question about the fuel system in a 2003 dodge stratus?
last week my car developed a miss while idle and occasionally on take off but was fine i had it hooked up to a computer and was told it has a miss in cylinder 1 i was told to add some fuel injector cleaner and see if that worked. it didnt. changed the spark plugs that didnt help either. today i took it out and the check engine light started flashing it started shuddering made a strange noise a few times and almost acted like it was running out of gas but it got me to where i was going so i could trade it for my husbands truck and it didnt stall any. im wondering what it is like when the fuel pump goes bad and also what it is like when a catylitic converter goes bad any help?
I have a question about the fuel system in a 2003 dodge stratus?
Since injector cleaner, changing plugs did not help, and plug wires checked out good and no mechanical problems, sound like injector 1 maybe dumping too much fuel flooding out no. 1 cylinder. The check engine light flashing indicates a condition that could damage the converter such as too much unburned fuel that can clog up the converter. The check engine light will also indicate if the converter is failing thanks to a front and back O2 sensor at the converter.
I have a question about the fuel system in a 2003 dodge stratus?
Could be bad wires.Spark plug wires.
the check engine light alerts you to trouble with the exhaust?emmissions.probably the convertor is getting plugged or a bad 0 2 sensor.

How much is a full fuel convertor kit for a pont. Firebird?
Ok I have a v8 and its tooo much gas. My dad said I can get a fuel convertion or fuel injector for my car. He said I need to replace the convetor idk. But how much would it cost to get it done. I want to change my engine to like a v4 or something to save gas
How much is a full fuel convertor kit for a pont. Firebird?
Yeah, sell it and buy something you can afford. Think how much cheaper it will be on gas, taxes, insurance and maintenance!!

What the heck is he talking about? I have no idea what he's talking about, he probably doesn't either.
Also, there's no such thing as a V4...and if you're that worried about gas then sell the car before putting a SMALLER engine into a muscle car.
Seriously, if you're that worried about gas sell it and buy a Honda or Toyota or a more economical GM vehicle.web page host software

Daewoo matiz engine warning light?
Daewoo Matiz Engine light?
had bit of trouble with my car, wasn't running well and engine light come on, now i have changed fuel injectors and engine running great again, but engine warning light is still on, now i'm wondering if i just need to take it to have it reset, or if i still have an engine problem, warninglight was blinking b4 i changed injectors, but now it is constantly on
Daewoo matiz engine warning light?
You could try disconnecting the battery and leaving it off for a good few hours to reset it - works with most.
Daewoo matiz engine warning light?
My hubby has a daewoo lanos and the AA told him to disconnect the battery for at least 10 mins when the light came on as it resets the system.
Yes as above, reset the battery and the engine light should go away if the problem has been rectified.
My wife had the same thing in her Matiz, turned out to be a sensor, took about ten minutes to change at the dealer.

Poor acceleration / Loss of acceleration (from standstill) and excessive fuel consumption.?
We've checked, cleaned, and replaced (when needed) everything from the air intake filter, to the Mass Air-flow sensor, to the Oxygen sensor, cleaned the injectors, changed the fuel filter (fuel pump works fine), changed spark plugs and hi-tension wires... but still experience sluggish acceleration from standstill and terrible gas milage. I mean, either give me no power but great milage or bad milage but great power... but no power and poor milage is just terrible. The only thing we have not yet checked is the ECU, which controls the air/fuel mixture and timing of the engine. I can't imagine why these things would %26quot;lose%26quot; their programming or why these things would ever require any reprogramming to begin with. Any ideas anyone? Did we miss anything in our checklist? Thanks.
Poor acceleration / Loss of acceleration (from standstill) and excessive fuel consumption.?
You don't say what car this is, but Cam position sensor could be a culprit. I had this on a BMW the other day, I had disconnected the CPS to do some work, forgot to re-connect it and the car was awfull. Plugged it back in, and hey presto!
Poor acceleration / Loss of acceleration (from standstill) and excessive fuel consumption.?
You didn't mention if you have had the error codes read or not. It may be a problem with the ignition. The cylinder may be getting the fuel but no spark. Is the engine running smooth? You may be getting weak spark, or even a bad bunch of gasoline. Try filling the tank with a higher octane to see if that makes a difference.
good luck.
its got to be something thats blocking the air from getting into the engine. i wish i could be more helpful. my father had the same problem in his truck and it was the clogged injectors, but youve cleaned them. maybe take the intake right off and see if theres something jammed in there. its worth a shot. like you say, the ecu or some sensor or something malfunctioning is most likely. i think that a damaged o2 sensor might cause the poor mileage, but ive got no idea about the power. sorry
take it in to the shop and let them put it on their machine to find out whats wrong with it instead of replacing parts that it doesn't need, it will be much cheaper in the long run.

I think i have a fuel delivery problem but do not know chev blazer,2001, 4.3 l vortec?
for the past 2 years my car has gotten harder and harder to start and now will not start. for the first five years my car started immediately. 2 years ago it started to take two tries to start it. 1 year ago it started to take 3 tries and very specifically just bumping the starter quickly three times, the third time it fires right up. finally now it will not start at all, bumping it every 4th or 5th time it gives a weak attempt to run but nothing. have changed the fuel filter a few times, new battery, cleaned the fuel injectors., new spark plugs, no change at all whatsoever
I think i have a fuel delivery problem but do not know chev blazer,2001, 4.3 l vortec?
If the engine rotates but, won't start it can be quite a a few different things.
It can be:
fuel tank empty
fault in the fuel injection system
battery discharged ( engine rotates slowly )
battery connections loose or corroded
faulty fuel pump
excessive moisture on, or damage to ignition components
worn, faulty or incorrectly gapped spark plugs
broken, loose or disconnected wire at the distributor
distributor cap wet, cracked or carbon tracked
ignition coil bad
and last but, not least and the most expensive problem...
engine mechanical failure.
Lots of things to check here, good luck.

well, as a blazer owner, the fuel pumps are infamous for going bad. However, since you said its gotten harder and harder, I would suggest checking your power wire going from the battery to the starter. Does it turn over when you crank it, or does it just give a little clunk? If that wire is corroded, it will not give the starter enough power to get your engine to crank over. If its manual, try pop starting it.

My 2003 GMC Sonoma, has a problem. when I am accelerating right before I shift it pulls ?
it feels like a missfire in the injectors ( I think) I have already changed the fuel filter performed a oil change. and I added a fuel injector cleaner to clean them. Yet I still have that problem feels like when it runs out of gas.

2000 GMC Pick up truck - 5.3 litre - Why does it skip? ?
Have had injectors checked, the coils, fuel injectors, changed the fuel filter, and nothing helps. Any ideas on why this skips going up hills or when you step down hard on the gas - doesn't do it in city driving. Thanks for your quick answers.

check out your distributor, it could be cracked. If not take it to a mechanic and see if they could look at it.

No dizzy on that engine, if I recall. Good old coil on plug ignition.
You need to perform further diagnosis like a compression check.cat excel

Can bad fuel injectors or fuel pressure reg. make truck idle a little off, but be fine after take off?
My 03 yukon has had alot of work done lately. I started fixing everythng when gf brought it hme with check engine light on. When I drive truck it runs good but at a complete stop it has a slight miss. I have changed plugs, wires, o2 sensor, catalytic con, changed oil, motor flush, gas treatments, cleaned mass air flo sensor, good compression, good fuel pressure, intake cleaned, all coil packs are good. The truck keeps showing multiple misfire on computer. I am burning extra gas
Can bad fuel injectors or fuel pressure reg. make truck idle a little off, but be fine after take off?
i would look at the freeze frame date that is stored in the cpu with that pO300, that will give you a direction to go into. fuel pressure variance can trigger a misfire in extreme situations but i do not think that you are in that situation. a misfire can be caused by many things. that code only picks up in a weak power stroke for what ever reason.
Can bad fuel injectors or fuel pressure reg. make truck idle a little off, but be fine after take off?
sounds like bad wires or fowled plugs
Try a fuel injection service / cleaning before you start tearing the engine apart to do injectors. I've found a good service cleaning fixes most rough idles and minor misfires
Did you get the codes read, since you stated the check engine light was on? So, basically your wasting money till you get the problem diagnosed first.
Multiple misfires could mean the crank sensor may be screwed up somehow too.

Is preventative fuel injector service a rip-off?
My mechanic is running a special on fuel-injector service and recommended it for my two cars, a 97 Camry and a 92 Camry. This guy has a tendency to encourage additional procedures every time I get an oil change, which I don't have the expertise to know if they are valid or not. Is fuel injector service something I need to get done? He says it will pay for itself in gas savings. The special is 60 bucks, by the way, and the cars seem to running OK right now.
Is preventative fuel injector service a rip-off?
I'd say don't do it at all. We used to do these after watching the other shops do them on a regular basis. We are convinced that is no benefit to this. Reason we say this is the way this works. They basically unhook your fuel system from the engine and run it off a special solvent for about 10 minutes or so to flush out the injectors. This solvent is very strong, but is simply a stronger version of the stuff you can buy yourself in the cans and pour in your fuel tank. Also if you pour it in your fuel tank it will get exposed to the %26quot;inside%26quot; of the injectors much longer period of time. Injectors are basically like a spray garden hose nossle. Only thing you can do to them without removing them or replacing them is to clean them internally in one of the two above manners. Nothing you can pour in will clean the outside surface of the injector that is in the areas near the intake valve and exposed to the heat and such from the engine. I have never seen a vehicle come into our shop with %26quot;dirty%26quot; injectors that could come close to being fixed by this method. If you buy a good can of injector cleaner such as Berryman's or similar product from the parts store and every now and then put it in your tank you will reduce your chance of problems. Reason shops push this so much is that it is a big money maker. We used to spend 10 bucks on the can of flush and got 60 bucks or so to do it. Took about 15-20 minutes depending on how hard it was to hook up the injector connections. If you have seen those CLR commercials for the Calcium Lime Rust remover where they clean a shower head with the stuff you can get a good idea of what often happens with injectors. If you are building up deposits they are on the %26quot;inside'%26quot; and the outside and the outside can't be cleaned by either method using solvents. Dirt in the fuel system usually stops up the screens at the top of each injector and that has to be removed by hand through injector removal or replacement as well. Save your bucks and buy a couple of cans of injector cleaner and do this yourself. One final thought on this. Both these cleaning methods are %26quot;supposedly%26quot; approved for catalytic converters but the %26quot;quick flush at the shop%26quot; method uses the much stronger solvent that could possibly overheat the catalytic converter, or possibly interfer with deposits there as well. Before I would have this done I would talk to somebody that has had %26quot;results%26quot; from this and not just %26quot;prevention%26quot;. :-)
Is preventative fuel injector service a rip-off?
no you dont need to do it. It is a good idea to put fuel injector cleaner in your gas tank every so often.
yes and no. Your mechanic is trying to up sell a service which is quick and easy if you have the right tools (most people don't) your mechanic is correct in saying that it does pay for itself if you are driving long periods at a time. little to none if your driving around town. what happens is carbon and other deposits get clogged up in your injectors which make it harder to get fuel into your engine, and can cause your engine to run rough or sloppy at idol. you shouldn't need to get your injectors professionally clean unless they are really clogged up (you will know when they are) if you want to be safe next time your at a petrol station or auto parts store buy a bottle of injector cleaner for around $8 and add it next time you fill up with petrol this will keep your injectors in good condition and also your whole fuel system
If your car is otherwise running fine and it has relatively low mileage you are probably being ripped off. A good over the counter fuel injector cleaner added to your tank every 6000 miles will do just as good a job for less than $10. The best to use are Chevron Techron, Gumout or STP. With today's reformulated fuels and poor fuel quality in certain markets, that will go a long way in preventing you from paying big bucks to replace clogged fuel injectors. Also buying fuel from the major oil companies can help keep your fuel system running smooth. They usually have better quality control and more detergents in their products. Don't waste money buying premium fuel if your car doesn't require it either.
It's well worth it if the shop is servicing it the right way. Your fuel system builds up deposits from gas sitting in lines overtime. You can use the fuel injector cleaner that you put in your gas tank, but then your talking about a cleaner that is deluded by the gas. This service that they are trying to sell you is a cleaner that goes directly into your fuel system and is not deluded by gas.
It's a good service to do every time to tune your car up and it will save you from having to replace fuel injectors down the road, which would probably cost you 10X what the service costs.
i clean my injectors myself. about once a year i give my car a good tune up. i take off the intake manifold and the throttle body to clean them, and that's the best time to take the injectors out and clean them also
i stand them up in a bowl of straight injector cleaner to soak, then put them back with new o-rings so they don't leak. that's less than 10$ for o-rings and a can of injector cleaner.
also clean the intake, throttle body and IAC valve before putting them back. do that once a year your car will run like a top.
I use mid grade gasoline and every other fill up i put in a can of stp. I have not had an injector problem in the 25 years that I have been driving cars.

Does anyone know the cylinder #'s and firing order for a 1993 plymouth grand voyager 3.3L V6 engine?
I have to change the fuel injector in the #6 cylinder and I don't know which one it is. This is for a Plymouth Grand Voyager 3.3L V6 engine. Please help!
Does anyone know the cylinder #'s and firing order for a 1993 plymouth grand voyager 3.3L V6 engine?
look for chilton's online or go to the library and look in the Automotive repair manuals that they have.
Does anyone know the cylinder #'s and firing order for a 1993 plymouth grand voyager 3.3L V6 engine?
Look on the intake manifold, it is almost always stamped on it.
If you look at the coil pack, it will have the cylinders marked. Then just follow the plug wire to the spark plug. The injector will be in the valley across the valve cover

Chev. Malabo 2002, don't start, sometime computer problem sometime fuel pump anyone have solution for this ?
first time it stop:- i changed the fuel pump inside the fuel tank, 2nd time i changed the fuel filter, 3rd time something electronic near the fuel injector and 4th time they said that the computer motherboard is having short circuit. Can someone help to make me understand what is wrong with my car
Chev. Malabo 2002, don't start, sometime computer problem sometime fuel pump anyone have solution for this ?
I have a 2001 Malibu and have been through alot of problems common to them.
You will need a new ignition module to cure the starting problem.
Fuel pump relay going bad will cause the pump not to work.
And the last problem that could be comming is the lower intake manifold gaskets could be leaking, making it seem like the head gasket is going but its not really. Good trick GM made to have you spend money at the dealerships.

Are you actually doing the work or is there a mechanic doing it?? You didn't get it fixed--so go to a real dealer and get it done properly. I don't know how you figured out what you tried--but if they don't fix it, you take it back until they do it right. No one can tell you what it is from a site---it is in need of the dealer for the BEST repair.

I ut 5 gallons of regular gas in my diesel truck accidently. what should I do ?
I am especially worried about the fuel injectors damage and any other damage. I have punped out the mixed fuel to the bottom of the tank and now have 10 gallons of diesel fuel in thank. I am afraid to try to start the engine however until I know more, and I have changed all the fuel injectors. Nial Castle in San Diego.
I ut 5 gallons of regular gas in my diesel truck accidently. what should I do ?
just drain it and replace the filters on it, i get a few like this once in a while it wil run like crap if you try and drive it,just drain it and it will be fine, good luck.
I ut 5 gallons of regular gas in my diesel truck accidently. what should I do ?
Say a prayer
Drain it. Otherwise its gonna damage the motor.
Appears to be the correct solution (no pun intended).
Confirm with a Diesel mechanic this Additional action:
Run the vehicle from FULL to about 3/4 FULL, then load up with pure Diesel to make it FULL again.
Keep doing this for about ten or more times.
Reasoning (to be confirmed by a Diesel mechanic):
Any remaining gasoline will be mixed with the Diesel, time and time again. Too much gasoline will not be placed into the fuel lines. You will have only diluted gasoline, diluted gasoline, diluted gasoline, and more diluted gasoline.
Good luck!
Theirs a high chance that it could be ruined.
Do not %26quot;run%26quot; your truck. Call a mechanic as soon as possible.
I have done this my self.
I drained the fuel, replaced the fuel filter and refilled with diesel fuel.
I have no idia how much your tanks hold but if you have drained it as empty as possible and refilled it with diesel it shouldnt be too dangerous. its running straight gasoline through a diesel thats a disaster. if possible fill the tanks with diesel and stick an air hose in the tank and airate the fuel. this will blend the fuels more fully deluting the fuel even more and for an added touch add a quart of atf in the tank to further brake it down.
it would help to know what kind of truck and tank size, but, having gas in a diesel, will not damage the engine,it will however make it run alittle warmer temperature, how much gas?in how big of tank?a gallon or two of gas in a 30 gallon fuel tank will have no real effect on the engine, old school truck drivers even used to put 10 gl gas to 100 gl diesel in extreme cold temps to prevent gelling,if you think you have it to about a gallon or two ,to a 30 gl tank ,fill it with diesel, when you drive half of the tank out, fill it back up with diesel, you really should have no problems,
If you started the engine with gasoline replace the fuel filter/s. Depending on the unit I would draw fuel from whatever is feeding the fuel filter until I got diesel from the line. Why did you change the injectors? If you drained the tank as best possible, replaced the fuel filter/s and were able to get diesel from the filter feed I would go ahead, start the truck. You should be okay. Don't rev it like a mad man just in case you have a little gasoline in the injection pump.
Lol! Don't worry it's not major. It's the other way round that rights of a petrol engine. Fill the tank with diesel. Loosen the injectors. Have someone turn the ignition. Keeping naked flames away smell the liquid coming out of the injectors. When it smells diesel stop turning the ignition, replace the injectors. Now turn the ignition until it fires. You biggest problem is the battery running flat. I solved this problem by having a friend tow me in circles with the ignition on. You won't have done any damage to the engine. I've done this myself and solved the problem this way with the assistance of a mechanic.
A 20% mixture of gasoline blended with 80% diesel fuel will run without serious complications in a diesel engine as long as you are not operating the engine at or near it's design limit - AKA stay away from using full throttle! the best thing to do is to fill the tank with diesel as soon as the level drops 1/4 tank two or three times then you can resume normal operation.
It will also reduce the possibility of complications if you add a bottle of diesel fuel cleaner / additive / upper end lubricant to eliminate any possible loss of lubrication in the fuel system.make up help for sensitive skin Blankets

Fuel Injector pump problems Dodge diesel!?
My 2000 Dodge diesel 5.9 litre was Idling the other morning and i heard a thump from the engine. Now it wont start. Batteries are Ok,Heater Grid is OK, Lift pump is OK, However there is no Fuel to the Injectors. Is it possible to change out the fuel injection pump yourself? Its $3000.00 to take to shop. It has 126,000 miles on it. and Has been well taken care of.
Fuel Injector pump problems Dodge diesel!?
If you're fair with a wrench, you can do it. However, make sure the pump is actually bad before you pull it. I don't know how MOPAR drives their pumps, but check that before you take it apart.
Fuel Injector pump problems Dodge diesel!?
I would get on one of the cummins-dodge truck websites. Certain years and models had similar issues to one another. I have only heard about killer dowel pin syndrome, and failed lift pump problems. (causes injection pump failure because of lack of fuel from lift pump.) I've had only dodge gas trucks and they have taken a beating well.

Where is the fuel filter and fuel pump located on a 1997 Nissan sentra and how do you change them?
My car smells like gas all the time. Someone told me that it could either be a clogged fuel filter or a malfunctioning fuel pump or a malfunctioning fuel injector. I want that horrible smell gone so i want to replace these two parts first and see if it helps! Thanks
Where is the fuel filter and fuel pump located on a 1997 Nissan sentra and how do you change them?
The easiest way to find a fuel leak in any car is to run over a bunch of lit road flares. Good luck!

Why is my 96 cavalier getting too much air?
After i changed the fuel injector rings my check engine light came on, I don't know if it has anything to do with changing the rings, but it happened after i did them, I took it to Advance Auto and hooked up the computer to it and the computer says the car is getting too much air, one person said it could be the evap system and someone else says it could be some kind of little box thats located in the fuel system in the gas tank......?
Why is my 96 cavalier getting too much air?
When you say it is getting too much air, do you mean that you retrieved a code like P0171 - System Lean Bank 1? Is it possible that you didn't plug in one of the injectors properly or fully? Maybe popped off a vacuum hose by accident? I believe both the 2.2 %26amp; 2.4 use a MAP sensor and usually you would get a too rich code because of a bad vacuum hose or sensor and not this problem.
The first thing to do is re-check your work. If it is not running as smooth as prior to the replacement of the fuel injector o-rings, you may have just made a mistake. I don't know the exact code you are getting, but I assume it is the code I mentioned.

My mazda rx7 turned on once and then i turned it off and then it wouldnt start again.. I just changed the fuel?
2000 blazer how much labor time to change a fuel injector?
My blazer is in the shop with a bad injector....cant tell you what a nightmare it was to narrow this problem down. can anyone give me the book estamate as to how long it should take to do the work?
thanks
2000 blazer how much labor time to change a fuel injector?
around 2 hours, you have to pull the top of the intake off to repalce them
2000 blazer how much labor time to change a fuel injector?
6 Hours labour but mechanics usually dont take that long. They can blow the injector clean of debris. But if it has to be replaced, its 6 hrs.
What symptoms have you been having that leads you to think that it is a fuel injector? I know some of the main symptoms are
(1 Hard Starting
(2 Poor fuel economy
(3 Rough Idle
(4 Car runs fine when cold and terrible when warm
(5 Car will start just fine when cold and not when warm
(6 Getting a fuel smell inside the car
(7 Loss of power in acceleration
(8 Fuel leaking from injector seals or injector
I have heard that fuel injectors are JUST as easy to replace as spark plugs, and in some cases you can clean them for a temp fix, but it is a catch 22 because Faulty fuel injectors if not replaced can also cause damage to other fuel system parts such as fuel filters, fuel pumps, check valves, fuel regulators, and fuel distributors. This could cause hundreds of dollars in additional repairs.
The way I understand it, it is about a 15 minute to 30 job if you ONLY damage is the fuel injector and nothing else has come wrong. Safely, I would say an hour.client time structuretoptr

I have a 92 astro van 4.3 v6 and gas just drips out of the fuel injectors wat cudd b wrong?
It wont start just turns over. before when it ran it started to hesitate when u accelerate from a stop, and then gradually got worse. One day it would start to jerk and shake really really bad when u wudd accelerate and it wuddnt go over about 55-60 mph and in order for it to even accelerate u wudd have to pump the gas alot. changed spark plugs and map sensor and fuel filter but didnt fix the problem. Fuel pump does make the noise when u turn the key on, and when the filter is removed gas does squirt out for maybe 2 or 3 seconds. It has been sitting for a while not knowing what to replace. I dont wanna replace a whole bunch of expensive parts with no results.
I have a 92 astro van 4.3 v6 and gas just drips out of the fuel injectors wat cudd b wrong?
buy a noid light...they are about 10 or 12 bucks and check the pulse to your injectors if the signal is good on all cylinder...then you probably have a bad injector...the gas coming out of an injector should be a very fine mist....it will be cheaper than buying new injectors to take it to a shop and have the injectors cleaned...that costs about 50 -60 bucks.take each injector out one by one...pull one out and then turn the engine over to see if fuel sprays out...that will help you to find the bad injector...test them all....you also mentioned that you have taken the fuel filter off and turned the key on and fuel came out for a few seconds....when you take the fuel line loose and turn the key on the fuel pump should keep running until you shut off the key...the reason t stops or you hear it stop when everything is attached is because it builds the necessary pressure and stops running....but with it unhooked from the filter it would run continuosly trying to build pressure....if it stops after a few seconds then you have a bad pump....the hesitation you described sounds like you need to take off your egr valve and clean it really well with some brake parts cleaner...clean the valve itself and the port where it attaches...even b 4 you buy a pump i would suggest a fuel pump relay....they are cheap......you should also remove the distributor cap and look inside of it to see if there is any corrosion or buildup on the contact points.....a cap and rotor are only like 13 bucks max...that could also cause you hesitation....even with a bad injector it should still start....i had a guy bring one into my shop 4.3 i mean with the same problems and turned out the shaft on his distributor had cracked...good luck and any other questions let us know

Sounds like clot injectors I would change the injectors, and check the fuel rail.
just go the extra mile and fix it for good, just get a new throttle body.
If you have gas leaking from injectors the injector is leaking and will have to be replaced.
Check the fuel injector o-rings. Have had this happen many times. There is a clamp on the top of the throttle body that holds the injectors in. remove it and pull out the injectors. should be 2 o-rings. one at the top and another at the bottom. If these are leaking the computer can't shut the fuel down and it will also set a false MAP sensor code.

i have changed the fuel filter, checked the solanoid, changed all glow-plugs (but car first stopped starting when warm.) Fuel seems to be getting to the pump but no further. Also after i have turned the engine over to try to start it there seems to be a buzzing noise coming from near the fuel pump under the bonnet, but the fuel pump is not electrical powered, it is mechanical. please could someone help me! thanks!

What year is your car? They do not sell those French cars here but my experience with mechanical fuel pumps is the diaphragm in your mechanical fuel pump is probably broken. That is the buzzing noise you here. It is still going to move internally when you turn it over because it rides on your cam shaft. Replace your fuel pump and your little french`y should be running fine. Good luck.

glow plugs so you have a diesle? Well if it's going to the fuel pump and no further then there is either a clog before your fuel pump or you have to have your fuel pump re-adjusted or you need a new fuel pump...

Does anyone know where in the car is my fuel injector computer for my 1989 240 volvo is?
I need to find my fuel injector computer for my 89 ,240 volvo as itS BAD AND NEED TO CHANGE IT. I WAS TOLD IT NOT THAT HARD, THANKS FOR YOUR HELP,
Does anyone know where in the car is my fuel injector computer for my 1989 240 volvo is?
It is behind the right side kick panel, just in front of the right front door. Take off the door sill cover, pull up the molding toward the front of the door opening and remove the cover, the ECU is behind the panel.
Does anyone know where in the car is my fuel injector computer for my 1989 240 volvo is?
its located on the inner drivers side fender well between the radiator and the left fender. It should be a black box 6%26quot; by 8%26quot; roughly with a blue part # sticker on it.
1 repair pal is correct on the location and access procedures
2 i have replaced exactly 2 computers since the beginning of L.H. injection of 2 series cars[starting with the 1982 +or- model year. one was crash damaged [local body shop was unable to get running after their cosmetic repairs] and one had an updated program to resolve a high mileage drivability problem.
the 1989 model has on board diagnostics for both the fuel injection and ignition systems my best advise to you is to purchase either a haynes repair manual or the robert bentley 240 service manual and follow the instructions for the diagnostic socket and pigtail located on the left strut tower [not only will this system read stored codes it will activate the various out put devices [injectors, idle control motor, throttle position contacts etc.]
note if there is no readout at the diagnostic socket box, along with no fuel injection and no ignition all at the same time you must check the 25 amp fuse located in it's own holder beside the battery [clipped to a bracket bolted to the left inner fender [habitually this fuse holder corrodes, resulting in no power to the computer[s] [ignition computer is separate on this car] this fuse holder is best replaced with a soldier in marine style [sealed] holder with the joints insulated with heat shrink tubing.
hope this helps

When adding fuel injector cleaner, should i do so right before or after getting my oil changed?
Thanks!
When adding fuel injector cleaner, should i do so right before or after getting my oil changed?
If you're talking about the stuff you put in your gas tank, it really doesn't matter with the oil. Just be sure to put it in before you fill your tank with gas, as it will mix with the gas better.
When adding fuel injector cleaner, should i do so right before or after getting my oil changed?
doesn't matter, your fuel injectors aren't affected by your oil. That being said fuel injector cleaner will only do so much, if your having trouble you can by a kit and do it yourself if your fairly mechanically inclined, if not it'll cost you around 100 dollars for a mechanic to do it for you (from my experience this is definitely worth it if your experiencing lower gas mileage or your check engine light is giving you a fuel injector code.
mechanically it makes ZERO difference. personally (it sounds like someone else will be changing your oil) i would wait until after the work is done. if you do it before and then something sounds or feels different, or something else goes wrong with the car, theyll blame it on you having added the injector cleaner. and even if you dont tell them, YOU wont know if you did something by adding the stuff or if the shop left something undone or damaged your vehicle. so wait a day or two after your oil change, once all is running as usual, then pour the fuel additive in.
The fuel injectors have nothing at all to do with the oiling system, so....it does not matter at all whether you add injector cleaner before or after an oil change, it is totally up to you, but it should be added BEFORE a GAS fill up to properly mix.

What would cause a fuel pump to continually go bad?
I own a Jeep Cherokee a four cylinder 1996 and the fuel pump keeps going bad the last one lasted a week. What could be causing this? I recently changed the injectors, 02 sensors, oil, and the pump has been changed a total of two times in the past 3 months. Please help me fast
What would cause a fuel pump to continually go bad?
well it depends on what goes wrong with it. like the person who answered before me if its a electrical surge then the wires could get fried. though if it just stops working with no electrical problems then you have kerosine built up in your gas tank. if your car sits too long the gas in it goes bad ( thanks alot oil companys, they put it in there so people dont hoard gas). if your pump sucks it in and clots up it obviously wont be able to suck any more gas threw it. either have your tank cleaned or keep it at at least 1/4 tank and only put in premium for at least the next few times you fill up
What would cause a fuel pump to continually go bad?
Check to see if you have a fuel pump relay and if you do, replace it.
If you only got a week out of a brand new pump, I'd get the wiring tested. make sure your not shorting out the unit. You'll need a mechanic to test cars wiring for proper voltage.
Good Luckparameter for couples and singles

How do i get the fuel injector rails off of a 1996 mercury grand marquis in order to change the spark plugs?
i removed the bolts, but the rails wouldn't come off.
How do i get the fuel injector rails off of a 1996 mercury grand marquis in order to change the spark plugs?
you should not have to do that!
need a %26quot;wobly-spark-plug-socket%26quot; and extension/s!
How do i get the fuel injector rails off of a 1996 mercury grand marquis in order to change the spark plugs?
I can't tell you how to take the rails off but, when you change the plugs, use Iridium, they last a lot longer and save you doing the job again next year
it just does not pull off its also holding the injectors into the heads
Here is what the book says to do...

Do you really have to change your lifter from your car, when you hear the knocking from the fuel injector?
it very expensive to repair an engine, i was hoping maybe i can do it myself and save money, i have mechanical tools, the engine lift and guide to repair. But I was wonder if there another altenative to repair lifters, instead of paying so much money to repair it?
Do you really have to change your lifter from your car, when you hear the knocking from the fuel injector?
First, it might not be a lifter problem but instead spark-knock caused by vacuum advance not working or even your oil too thin or dirty. There are numerous problems that can cause this symptom. It could also be a weak oil pump. First, check your oil pressure with a reliable guage. If the OP is ok then you can narrow it down from there. If you are sure it is lifters you can change them easily. Just be sure to check the rocker arms and cam lobes for wear when you tear it down because if they are worn a new set of lifters will still let it peck.
Do you really have to change your lifter from your car, when you hear the knocking from the fuel injector?
Drove my Jeep wrangler with a bad lifter for 2 yrs.
Not enough info. Mabey you don't even need a lifter. If you have a stuck lifter sometimes you can get them to pump back up by 1. making sure you have good clean oil 10w30. 2. with the engine fully warmed up, hold the rpm steady at around 3000 rpm for 2 or 3 minutes. Pay attention to the temp guage. If it dosent pump itself up then you might have to change it.
is their anything you wont try, very impressive, but, usually people get in over their heads, and cost themselves more, or get a mech to help. Offer a beer or two.

Missfiring problems with mazda tribute 03 model v6?
I have changed fuel filter, removed fuel injectors for bench check, replaced plugs, metered coils with multimeter, all to no avail this engine misfires and surges under load or cruising and idles rough can hear intermittent miss even on idle. Can anybody give me some more ideas on this engine, the engine fault light does not come on, how is air flow meter checked and o2 sensor checked,if these are faulty does engine fault light come on? Are coils a common fault with this engine

have an 01 tribute v6, had rough idle problems but not misfiring under load, engine would misfire until it warmed up. replaced a lot of parts but finally found that the lower intake gaskets were bad. Also when you replaced the spark plugs did you replace the plenum gaskets.

I had this same problem - the replaced both my upper and lower intake manifold gaskets. Runs great now.

Will a 383 fit into a buick roadmaster 95 and if so can i change the intake with my fuel injector?
Not a very likely fit. Besides if you have emissions testing in your area the car will never pass emissions with anything but the original type of engine. When they load your VIN in the emissions computer and it sees something other than the readout it's expecting it will be an automatic failure.
Will a 383 fit into a buick roadmaster 95 and if so can i change the intake with my fuel injector?
yes it will fit. the buick roadmaster came with an LT1, which is based off a 350 small block. a 383 is just a stroked 350, so the outside dimensions are the same. there would be no emissions implications because they cannot test for discplacment on an emissions test.

How to trouble shoot fuel pump 1993 altima, fuel system extremely rough, will a pump go out completely?
or will it perform partially and then go out, i might have lost an injector, changed plugs and fuel filter, how fast can a fuel filter be fouled? much thanks
How to trouble shoot fuel pump 1993 altima, fuel system extremely rough, will a pump go out completely?
can do a pressure test reant a tool
can just remove fuel line and turn it on
90% of time they just go bad they stop working
and more likey just dirty fuel system or fuel try a few bottle of a fuel treatrment for a few tanks of fuel might clean it up
inline fuel filters every coupe years in tank filter years
really more like dirty system or a bad wire nissan know for bad wiring
How to trouble shoot fuel pump 1993 altima, fuel system extremely rough, will a pump go out completely?
Sometimes they will go out like a lightbulb, other times they will try to hang on. The best way to test is get a fuel pressure test done.
The fuel filter can clogged very fast if you pumped bad gas into your tank.
What symptoms are you having?
I have seen a few Sentras of that era with bad intake gaskets causing rough idle and poor performance.
yes they can go without any warning but sometimes it,s not the pump but the fuel filter.some people just think it,s the pump when it don,t start but the fuel filter can act like the pump when it gets clogged. the filter can get pretty clogged that gas can,t go through them. also your problem could be the pump regulator on the fuel rail.

2002 Kia Rio Cinco does good when idling but when given gas it cuts out.?
Kia Rio Cinco 2002 idles fine but when given gas acts like it wants to cut off and runs rough
We changed spark plugs and wires. New Battery.
changed fuel filter, change injectors and injector rail. Changed two sensors on top of water pump, a sensor on the vaccum and changed ignition coil. Put the fuel treatment in still doing it. Letting it run the gas out now. Going to try the fuel pump relay next. Any other suggestions?
2002 Kia Rio Cinco does good when idling but when given gas it cuts out.?
Get a diagnostic test ran to see if there are any codes. From what you are telling me, it sounds like the throttle position sensor is going out.
If you are electrically/mechanically inclined you can get an ohmmeter and a buddy (to move the gas pedal while doing this, and do this test while the vehicle is off), disconnect the connector to it, and check the resistance in the TPS. The resistance should vary on it respectably while the gas pedal is moved in different positions.
If this shows no results, then I would suggest getting some carburetor cleaner and while it just got fired up, spray a little along where the intake manifold meets the head and along where the throttle body meets the intake manifold. If the way it runs changes, then you have just pinpointed which gasket has gone bad, creating a vacuum leak.

I have a 99 ford escort zx2 i changed the engine now i have no spark to plugs or fuel to injectors?
check the codes. was the computer good when you had the other engine?
then i'd start testing things. the fuel pump relay, fuel pressure at the rail, the coil pack. but i think both a no gas and no fuel condition with a new engine i'd start by checking the computer.

silly answer, is battery conected..... dont bother scrap it **** car anyway.

i own a repair shop, and there is probably a wiring harness that's not hooked up on it,i have done it a few times after changing engines in one,id go back over it and check it real good ,you,ll find it,and it will be a real simple one, good luck i hope this help,s,you may have to use your old distributor with it,i have had to do this a few times.

2001 Chrysler sebring 2.7l fuel injector and water outlet housing problem.?
Hi i have been on this messin with my chrysler sebring now i took it to a professional and he said its not a big problem he said he see a leak in the gas line thats y i smelled gas and he also need to change my fuel injector. Can someone please tell me why is that important ? and does it solve any gas smell problem. He also stated the water outlet housing isn't any good. Just bought it but i guess it wasnt any good, because the sensor never worked on it by the way. does this make any sense. my car was running hot and he stated because the housing isn't any good and maybe the person that put it in messed it up more so it was gettin air intake and leaking coolant. Please let me know if what i stated can solve my car running hot and cooling boiling and gas smell problem. Please let me know. Thanks for the help i hope. also if anyone have a link where i can get the fuel injector. Thanks alot.
2001 Chrysler sebring 2.7l fuel injector and water outlet housing problem.?
If you have a fuel leak, then that should always be repaired because it could cause a fire under the hood. If the gas line is leaking it should be repaired or replaced. I'm not sure why the mechanic wants to replace the fuel injector unless you are having problems with it or it is leaking. Repairing a fuel leak will solve the smell of gas. Unless the water housing is leaking not sure what he means when he says it is not any good. Most times the housings are plastic and leak. Usually the housings don't come with the sensor, if it did then a bad sensor will not allow the cooling fans to operate properly. If you are losing coolant this could cause the car to overheat. You can also check to make sure the thermostat isn't sticking, the fan works, and you have plenty of coolant in the car. You can purchase a fuel injector from any parts store or you can contact the dealer. hope this helps

Way to improve fuel economy on a 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier?
hi,
I used to have a 1995 Cavalier, until about 2.5 years ago when I bought this 2004 model.
That Cavalier I had before, was standard, and I was saying I'd say about 650 to ask much as 750km on a full tank of gas. (60L)
The engine is I believe the same. 2.0L 4 Cyl engine. In fact I think now its' also an %26quot;ecotec' so is that supposed to be even MORE efficient in the 2004 model.
I get about not more than 500 maybe 550km's on a full tank now.
Not sure why this is happening.
- 58000 km on it.
-Regularly get oil changes -every about 5000 km from GM dealer
-have good tires, all season - original tires I think they should be good until about 75,000 km, still lots of tread. check the air pressure regularly.
-I don't idle my car for long times
- i don't rev my engine too much and 'take it easy' driving, keep rpm around 2 to 3000rpm.
-regularly put in fuel injector cleaner about every 10000 km

Sounds like you are in the mix of wondering. You have not mentioned what kind of transmission you have on each car. But the 95 model will have less smog equipment than your newer 2004 model. Let us all know what transmission you have in each.

Are the gas tanks the same size ? These are different cars from 95 to 04' The 04 is a 2.2L engine with much more power, about 140hp compared to 110 or so for the 95'. You need to check your actual mileage. Next time you fill up,write down the vehicle miles or rest your trip odometer. After using that tank note how many gallons it takes to refill. divide the number of miles you went by the gallons to refill. A mid to high twenties number should be good for this car. If lower, have a dealer check it out.small myspace channel
