Help with diesel truck repair? i dont think they changed my fuel injectors?

My husband paid 3000.00 dollars to change his fuel injectors and he thinks that they just cleaned them. He saids that there is a lot of dust on his engine cover and that the engine doesn%26#039;t look like it%26#039;s been touched. How can we know for sure? My husband has worked on cars since he was young but not on diesel engines. can someone give me some feed back please.|||well that is a pretty good sign it wasnt done at all... it is a dirty job and there is fuel that leaks and there would nt be any dust there.. id have to go with what he thinking they didnt do much... best he have it check by someone else.. like a truck driver or another shop before going nuts..... another reason to ask for the old parts after you have repairs done|||go back and tell them that you want the old injectors if they can%26#039;t come up with them then take them to court because they should still have them because they have to be disposed of properly not just thrown in the trash because they contain left over fuel... so u better check with them but no from what it sounds nothing got done..|||depending on the model the injectors can be over halled ,but after rebuilding them they should of flow tested them . you could ask to see the flow test results or if they were replaced ask to see the parts invoice if in doubt.|||No mechanic will do work on a car and leave it in pristine condition. First of all, theres a few kinds of injectors. There tuned port injectors and a type of injector called valve body injector. Usually when you replace injectors, if they%26#039;re new, ANY SHOP SHOULD HAVE YOUR OLD PARTS TO COMPARE AND/OR SHOW YOU THE WEAR AND CONDITION OF THESE PARTS. IF ...... you have a repair done on any vehicle, anywhere, any country, any time (which requires a replacement part), 98.9% of the mechanics that are good in the world will give you the part which was prepared as a comparison. LOL, they might even pick up something from the floor of the shop, but at least you%26#039;re getting a used part as compared to the new part. Baby girl, if a mechanic doesn%26#039;t take the time to explain to you HOW and WHY FIT FORM AND FUNCTION OF HIS JOB AND WHAT THE HELL HE%26#039;S GOING TO DO, FIND ANOTHER MECHANIC.

Lastly, if you have doubts and you%26#039;re a woman and your husband is a man and they dealt with a man, YOU DEFINITELY DON%26#039;T WANT THESE JERKHOLES TO DO ANYTHING TO YOUR CAR. Again, move on, there are good mechanics out there. You%26#039;ve had questions in your mind about these mechanics for a long time and so did he. He shouldn%26#039;t have went there and next time have him go online and get multiple opinions, multiple estimates on what it would take, HOW THEY WOULD DO THIS PARTICULAR JOB. If they give you any attititude at all, leave, quickly. Good luck. God Bless.|||you have to remove the valve covers to get too the injectors,so if you cant see new gaskets or if it doesn%26#039;t look very clean around the valve cover they didn%26#039;t do the job i have been an owner op for the past 17 years and i only take my truck to the engine manufacture repair shop like Detroit diesel or Cummins wont own a cat cost too much too repair and maintain.and also do most of my own repairs thanks to uncle SAM teaching me diesel mechanics in the army for 4 years tank mech...its hard to say if they changed out the injectors or just put some Lucas in to the fuel tanks.should have another factory shop take a look at truck too see if work was done or not...|||Are you sure it was injectors, or an injection pump?|||your husband has the right to go back to the shop and ask for the old ones to make sure that they actually did the work. if they dont have them then u have to take them to court because obviously they just ripped you off, but in order to avoid this very sincerely go and ask them about the job they did, the warranty on the new injectors, and if u can see the old ones.

sure you can bust in there with accusations and all that stuff but in the end theyll just be mad, kick you out, and then your out 3000 on work they didnt do. so politely ask about the work because if you do upset them whats gonna happen is alot of yelling and nothing getting resolved|||Ouch,

Inspect the injectors closely, if they are new, they will look it.

You can always call the service station back up and ask them point blank. This is really sensitive because you are

basically letting them know that you are questioning their

honesty. Hey wait a minute. Call them up and ask them what the warranty period is on those new injectors they replaced ? You shelled out a lot of money here. It%26#039;s worth your piece of mind. Be strong but be nice, at least at first....

Good Luck to you....
